Equipment
The new lab is designed to handle solvents like propane and dimethylether for the hydrogenation. This is the main reason for the large number of venting hoods.We have two HPLC and one GC. They are all equipped with autoinjectors.
The pilot-plant is designed for hydrogenation of fatty acid methyl esters to fatty alcohol. The flow rate of product is 10kg/h and of propane it is 40kg/h. The solvent and the excessive hydrogen are recovered. The plant was commissioned in October 2002.
